Review on "Hunger Games"--movie *Spoiler Alert*

I recently had the chance to go watch "Hunger Games". I haven't been to the movies in the longest time, and I have to say I was not disappointed. The setting was wonderfully done, the cinematography allowed for the audience to be transported into the world in which the events take place.

The acting was convincing, I felt like I was getting to know the characters as the story proceeded. I never stopped to think "oh! What horrible acting!" or "what a corny line?!" ...after all delivery is everything.

Although the plot line made me think of 1984, with a dash of Lord of the Flies, I liked it. However, after reading an article on cracked.com on "5 Reasons 'The Hunger Games' is Creepier Than You Think', it did add a new dimension to it. Don't get me wrong, I really truly enjoyed it. But the author of the article had a good point in mentioning that it is rather horrible that people would literally LOOK FORWARD to the prospect of having kids killing other kids in an ARENA. ....yup...that did make me stop and think for a little bit.

I was left with a few questions at the very end of the movie. However, since this is a multi-book series, I'm assuming that there will be a sequel to come? Perhaps? Maybe? I certainly hope so.

Movies cost so much these days, but I would recommend "The Hunger Games", if you have some money to burn and if you wanted to enter into another universe, where children are used to help remind the citizens of that society to behave, and to not rebel. (sounds depressing, but the movie is awesome).
